The German ambassador to Australia visits Jungheinrich Australia’s headquarters in Adelaide

Jungheinrich Australia welcomed His Excellency Dr Thomas Fitschen, the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Australia, and Mr Matt Williams, the Honorary Consul of the Federal Republic of Germany in Adelaide, to a site visit to its Australian headquarters in Adelaide on 8th March 2022. The site visit was accompanied by board members of the German Business Chamber of South Australia (GBCSA).

Mr Martin Bungartz, Managing Director, welcomed the visitors. He was supported by Mr Stefan Brehm, Vice President Asia Pacific, Rachelle Edwards, Director Finance and IT, Tony Pascoe, General Manager, and Sharon Kaur Elding, Director Human Resources.

After an introduction to the history of the Jungheinrich Group and Jungheinrich Australia, the management and visitors learnt about Jungheinrich Australia’s extensive product portfolio, partner brands TCM and Manitou and how Jungheinrich is leading the industry with Lithium-ion technology.

Jungheinrich are pioneers in the development of Lithium-Ion technology. In 2010/11 Jungheinrich was the first global company to use Lithium-ion batteries in forklift trucks. Lithium-ion batteries can be charged significantly faster, allow 21% reduction in CO2 emissions, have more run time and require lower maintenance than lead acid batteries.

The group also learnt about how Jungheinrich are providing Australian companies Logistic Systems solutions with Automated Guided Vehicles, Warehouse Racking and Consultation.

The Ambassador also visited the workshop where machines are refurbished according to their quality standards which is part of Jungheinrich’s strategy for a sustainable future.
